With new and many options of ordering it can be intimidating for a customer if to find he or she has ordered the wrong type of coffee just because he or she did not know the small difference between types of coffee.

Ristretto is an Italian word which means short or the contest of coffee. It refers to an espresso coffee that is made just like a normal espresso but with little probably half or less amount of water. The end product, therefore, is much smaller and more concentrated with a different richer taste than espresso.


Americano is a word that is believed to come from United States soldiers in Italy in the second world war, who dye to the limited amount of espresso at that time used to ration it by adding water. Americano is made by adding a larger amount of hot water to espresso, turning a small amount of it to a large cup of coffee.

Long black

It is a type of coffee commonly found in New Zealand and is much similar to Americano, but it has a stronger aroma and taste. It is made by pouring ristretto or espresso above hot water, enhancing the taste.
